The IBM Lenovo M5210 is a professional SATA/SAS RAID controller for servers and workstations that lets you connect storage devices to your network. The RAID controller coordinates the discs and groups them together in different arrangements, depending on the RAID level (0, 1, 5, 6, 10, JBOD mode).
The controller has a PCIe x8 3.0 interface as well as 2 external miniSAS SFF-8643 ports for up to 8 SATA / SAS discs. The 1GB of cache saves data on the controller while it’s being transferred to the hard drives. The included LSICVM02 LSI Cachevault (battery unit) saves that data for up to 72 hours in case of a power outage. The RAID controller is universally compatible with all known brands. Full and low profile brackets for installation are included.
