The Dell Perc H740p is a professional SATA / SAS RAID controller for servers and workstations. It allows you to increase the number of connected hard drives. The controller organizes and coordinates these to regulate read and write access.
The RAID controller offers an interface with PCIe x8 3.1 and 8 GB Cache. Via 2 miniSAS SFF-8643 ports you can connect up to 8 SATA or SAS drives. It is universally compatible with all known brands. The chipset is LSI Roc SAS3508, the component is an alternative to thhe model Broadcom 9460-8i. A battery module is included, as well as full and low profile brackets for installation.
The RAID controller functions as a hardware intersection for storage devices and their coordination.
